Derby County are set to enter new contract talks with Jacob Widell Zetterstrom amid 'substantial interest' from the Premier League, it is claimed.
Zetterstrom's form has apparently lured several top flight scouts to Pride Park and Derby will be keen to protect themselves from vultures hoping for a bargain - and either keep the 27-year-old Swede or be able to demand a high price.
The in-demand keeper joined from Djurgarden in 2024 on a three-year contract and has just kept two clean sheets as the Rams have won five on the bounce to climb to 10th in the Championship.
Football League World reports that Zetterstrom is now likely to be "asked to agree an extended deal" beyond the end of next season.
Brentford have been named as one of Zetterstrom's suitors and he was quizzed about the whispers by the football press back in Stockholm earlier this week.
"It was a rumour that I was quite surprised by," he told Fotbollskanalen.
"I hadn't heard anything about it before, but if it's true, it's great to hear something like that.
"At the same time, I came to Derby a year ago and have only been focused on doing my job there."
