Aston Villa youngster withdrawn from NT squad – Leaves training camp

Aston Villa’s Lamare Bogarde was included in the Netherlands U21 squad for November’s international break.

The midfielder has been forced to withdraw due to a concern over his fitness. This has been confirmed by KNVB, the Dutch football association.

The Aston Villa player reported to the training camp on Monday with ‘minor symptoms’. Jong Orange have confirmed the 21-year-old is ‘not fit to play’ the European qualifiers this month.

Voetbal International are also reporting the youngster is set for an early return to Aston Villa. After relaying KNVB’s info, they add Bogarde has left the Netherlands U21 training camp, likely on Friday.

VI state the Dutchman is already on his way back to Birmingham to report to the Premier League side.

Bogarde missed Jong Orange’s 2-0 win over Slovenia U21 yesterday and won’t be present for their clash against Israel U21 next Tuesday.

He made his debut for the Netherlands U21 in March in a friendly against Italy. Bogarde has played one more match since then, against Lithuania in October.

The midfielder has made 11 appearances for the Villans this season. His withdrawal will be a concern or Unai Emery’s side.
