The injury bug bit the San Francisco 49ers hard this year, but second-year wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is finally getting healthy. The former first-round pick is officially off the injury report and, barring an unexpected setback, should play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Ricky Pearsall Injury Update: 49ers Wide Receiver Healthy, Expected to Play Against Cardinals
Ricky Pearsall’s return comes at the perfect time for the San Francisco 49ers. Following a promising rookie season, Pearsall hit the ground running early in the year. Through the first four games of 2025, the former first-round pick recorded 20 receptions for 327 yards while catching passes from both Brock Purdy and backup quarterback Mac Jones. Unfortunately, the injury bug bit and sidelined Ricky Pearsall for six weeks.
Pearsall’s return to the field also coincides with Purdy’s. Signed to a massive extension, the former Mr. Irrelevant has only played in two games this year. While on the field, the one-time Pro Bowler has completed 65.8% of his passes for 586 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. Former first-round pick Mac Jones has done well in his absence, completing 69.6% of his attempts for 2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns, and six interceptions while guiding the team to a 5-3 record in his eight starts.
The 49ers have a good shot of reaching the playoffs thanks to their 6-4 record, but they have some work to do if they want to win the NFC West. The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks have identical 7-2 records, so the 49ers probably need to win out and hope Seattle and Los Angeles struggle down the stretch. Their quest for the divisional crown continues when they face Jacoby Brissett and an Arizona Cardinals team coming off an embarrassing loss to the Seahawks.
