The Jacksonville Jaguars made Walker Little the starting left tackle and later gave him a contract extension because they believed he could be Trevor Lawrence's blindside protector in the long term. The decision looked good at the time, but somewhere along the way, things took an ugly turn.
Little has struggled in 2025 and has arguably become the weakest link on the offensive line. A Jaguars alumnus has watched him play and minced no words about his struggles.
Leon Searcy believes the Jaguars have a liability in Walker Little
Lean Searcy had an exchange with Ryan "Hacker" Green of 1010 XL and said that Little has been underwhelming this season, pointing out that the fifth-year linebacker lacks sound fundamentals and technique. Here's the skinny:
"He did, absolutely," Searcy responded when Hacker pointed out that Little got manhandled.
"He got manhandled by an All-Pro, a perennial Pro who got after it. Because Walker Little, he's not sound fundamentally or technically, all right? I know that sounds kind of unique, but I'm watching him as an offense lineman: Doesn't transition well out of the stands, doesn't kick at the right ankles, reaches for air, doesn't kick, punch, sit, all that kind of stuff. And he got exposed. He got exposed."
Searcy continued, "I'm sure Danielle Hunter was watching the film of Walker Little and said, 'Oh, I've got a date with this kid. Look at his feet. I can get inside.' Listen, man. Coach was just talking about it was one particular play where Danielle Hunter moved inside of him, head up the inside of him, and Walker Little still got beaten by not taking this inside foot and pounding and forcing them down inside. It's a bevy of follies when it comes to him and just the offensive line."
"Here's the one thing that Walker Little has for him: that he's been beaten every particular way you could ever imagine by offensive linemen. He's been beat around the corner. He's been beat inside. He's been run over. He's been speedless. So I'm saying you, he's coming up with more unique ways to get beat weekend and week out. Well, today, ding, ding, ding, ding, we saw it all. He got run over, beat inside, beat around the corner, and he whiffed."
In nine games, Little has surrendered a career-worst eight sacks and a concerning 36 total pressures. In fact, he had allowed a combined eight sacks the past four years. Granted, he wasn't a full-time starter, but the dip in performance has been noticeable.
The Jaguars need to do something about Walker Little
Blocking has been an issue for the Jaguars this season. Given that the window to make trades is closed, whatever changes they make in the trenches will have to be internal. If the Jags do decide to make tweaks to the lineup, they need to consider benching Walker Little.
The Jaguars could kick Anton Harrison to the left side and plug Cole Van Lanen at right tackle. The issue with that approach is that Harrison is currently dealing with knee and ankle injuries, so a switch wouldn't be possible at this moment.
In the end, Walker Little hasn't done enough to prove he deserves to keep his job, and unless he puts it all together right away, the Jaguars need to pull the plug on him.
