Nuno Espirito Santo is keen for West Ham to sign Adama Traore in January in what would be a reunion between the pair.

During the summer, Espirito Santo nearly brought Traore to Nottingham Forest before he was sacked just weeks into the Premier League season.

Fast forward a few months later and Espirito Santo now wants to bring Traore to West Ham, according to former Hammers scout Mick Brown.

Espirito Santo has praised Traore repeatedly, mostly from during their productive time at Wolves together and the pair could be working together very soon as the January transfer window nears.

Espirito Santo looking to add pace into West Ham with addition of Adama Traore

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Portuguese would like to “explore” the possibility of bringing the Spaniard to the London Stadium.

During their time together at Molineux, the former Wolves boss described Traore as “unique” (Sky Sports, 8 March 2019), given his electric pace and strength.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over the pair rekindling their relationship and Espirito Santo wanting to bring the best out of the winger again, I explained: “I’m sure it’s something that Nuno would probably like to explore.

“Traore probably enjoyed his best spell of form under Nuno at Wolves between 2018 and 2021. I think there’s admiration from both.

“So, potentially there could be interest in a reunion between the pair at West Ham. We know West Ham probably will be busy in the January market to try and improve their squad.

“They do lack a bit of pace in that side as well. So Traore would definitely go a long way to solving that as well and he is coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season.”

Niclas Fullkrug sale to fund Traore move to West Ham

With the ex-Porto boss intrigued by the prospect of bringing Traore to east London, player sales in January would need to happen for a move to materialise.

Brown exclusively told Football Insider that West Ham are open to selling Niclas Fullkrug in the upcoming transfer window.

The German has struggled since he left Borussia Dortmund for the Irons and has even been pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Callum Wilson.

In one-and-a-half seasons with the Hammers, Fullkrug has netted on just three occasions, reflecting that an exit from the club looks inevitable.
