Glenn Murray joins podcast team live at the Amex in suicide awareness campaign

And that process will include a date at the Amex involving Crystal Palace.

Albion fan Kieran Maguire and Palace counterpart Kevin Day will be on stage for a live edition of their hugely popular Price Of Football podcast on Wednesday.

Former Seagulls striker Glenn Murray and Albion’s head of commercial Russ Wood will be guests on stage.

The event, organised in conjunction with Dean Gallagher of Brighton Samaritans, will raise funds and awareness in their efforts to prevent suicides and support mental health.

Kieran said: “The Premier League deserve a lot of praise because they are making suicide awareness one of their commitments for 2025-26.

“And I think it's testament to and it's indicative of what a club right now the Albion are that they were the first club to sign up for this.

“I happen to know Dean and he and I go back 40-odd years. He was talking about the fund-raising.

“We've done some fund-raisers for other charities and we'd be delighted to do this

“I think everybody knows somebody who has been impacted by suicide but it's the silent killer.

“It's still the biggest killer in the UK for men under the age of 50, which is scary.

“It's a big issue in Brighton as well. Brighton, unfortunately, has a high rate of suicide because we've got a very diverse demographic.

“It hits certain parts of society greater than others. So the opportunity to give some support to highlight the importance of the issue was something we wanted to contribute to.”

Albion recently released a powerful video showing how mates who go to football can help each other.

We're proud to be supporting the #TogetherAgainstSuicide initiative alongside @Samaritans and the @PremierLeague . 💙🤍

Kieran, well-known for his knowledge of football finances and admin as well as a love of spreadsheets, will take questions from the floor during the evening.

His sidekick Kevin will be just as happy to accept any banter coming his way across the Seagulls and Eagles rivalry.

And that tussle might not end up as a 0-0 draw this time.

Kieran said: “It can be challenging at times. At half-time, when we normally put out for the questions, I sometimes get an opportunity to look at them.

“The important thing is to be able to give people an objective and analytical comment.

“And then I've got Kevin as well. He loves taking on the Brighton fans because as, he always says, ‘I've been doing this, I've been a stand-up comedian for years and I've got the microphone, bring it on’.”

The event takes place at The Terrace sports bar and tickets are selling fast.

Kieran said: “We did it at £16.50 because it costs the Samarians £165 a day in Brighton to run what they do.

“For every ten tickets we sell, that's another day covered.”

Tickets can be bought via this link.
