Former Everton winger Pat Nevin believes Iliman Ndiaye is good enough to play for Manchester City but he wants the Senegal international to stay at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Pat Nevin believes Iliman Ndiaye would not look out of place in Manchester City’s team, but he wants him to stay at Everton, even if a potential sale could help alleviate the problem with the Blues’ misfiring strikers.
Playing predominantly on the left wing, Ndiaye was Everton’s top scorer last season with 11 goals in all competitions and having switched to the right flank this term after Jack Grealish’s arrival, he currently leads the way with four, having followed up the Blues’ last two goals at Goodison Park with the historic first strike in a competitive match at Hill Dickinson Stadium. One of the most eye-catching displays from the Senegal international whose country face Brazil at the Emirates Stadium today, came against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium last month when he produced one of his best displays for the club to date in the first 45 minutes, dominating against his petrodollar-fuelled hosts’ galaxy of stars.
Nevin, who played 150 games for Everton between 1988-92, scoring 21 goals after signing from Chelsea for £925,000, reckons that Ndiaye’s performances are bound to attract admiring glances from elsewhere and although his fellow Glaswegian David Moyes claims to be in the dark about a supposed £40million bid from Internazionale being rejected this summer, the 62-year-old believes others could come calling. Nevin told [CasinoHawks](http://Ex-Everton star makes Iliman Ndiaye Man City transfer claim and David Moyes 'will have to be clever'): “Losing Iliman Ndiaye is a fear for Everton.
“But they do have Tyler Dibling coming through, there’s Charly Alcaraz. There are other players that can play that position.

“Does that mean that Ndiaye is replaceable? I’m not so sure, I think he’s fabulous.
“I think he’s one of the best players in the league at the moment. I think if you stuck him at Manchester City out on the wide right, he’s fine.
“He’s good enough. There’s not much higher praise in English football because they brought players like Savinho, et cetera, and they’re fabulous but I don’t think they’re any better than Ndiaye. He’s that good. So he’s technically brilliant, very exciting to watch.”
Nevin added: “He’s producing the numbers as well, just now. He’s scoring a few goals. Others will be very keen and very interested in getting him. David Moyes will have to be clever.
“It’s all about finances. If you lose him, you know, what’s the going rate for a winger at the moment? The going rate for a winger? You’ve got to think it’s 60-65 million pounds, that’s a lot of money.
“You can do a lot with 60-65 million. You might even get a centre-forward, which I think everyone’s still looking for.
“So, it’s a juggling act. I desperately don’t want him to leave because I really, I love Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish, but if I want anybody on the ball at Everton, I want Ndiaye on the ball.
“So, I hope we don't lose him, but will others be interested? Yeah, of course they will because he’s that good.”
