Dani Carvajal claims Everton had the player with the best left foot of all-time

Everton have seen plenty of left-footed stars come and go over the years, but there is one who Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal thinks was the best ever.

David Moyes added some real quality over the summer through signing players like Jack Grealish in what was certainly a statement signing.

This is not the first time which Everton have shocked the Premier League by signing a player of such a significant calibre.

In recent weeks, Moyes has praised Jordan Pickford’s left foot, although the Scot did admit his distribution can sometimes frustrate.

Players like Leighton Baines and Kevin Sheedy are two which will spring to mind for many Everton fans when it comes to naming the best left-footed players to play on Merseyside.

However, Carvajal has admitted there is another one that he has thought of that was actually the best left foot in world football.

Former Everton star James Rodriguez is to become a free agent once again at the end of the year as he’s set to depart Leon FC.

It has now been over four years since the Colombian departed Merseyside, where he has since played for a staggering five clubs.

During a social media game with Davisuuarez, Carvajal was asked to create the perfect player.

After being asked to pick a specific player’s left foot, the Real Madrid right-back chose Rodriguez having also played with him in the Spanish capital.

Combined with Toni Kroos’ right-foot, Gareth Bale’s speed and Sergio Ramos’ footballing brain, Carvajal put together a special ultimate player.

Rodriguez paid special praise to Goodison Park last season as the Toffees said goodbye to the Old Lady.

There will be a feeling that the Colombia international left Everton too early, with his quality clearly recognised across the game.

James Rodriguez still has star quality

After leaving Merseyside, Rodriguez has admitted he regretted leaving Everton because of Rafael Benitez’s arrival at the club.

His career since moving on from the Toffees has certainly been turbulent, but he remains a regular for the Colombia national side.

Around a week ago, the 34-year-old showed the quality he still holds in his left foot with a stunning assist against Club Puebla.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has shone at Everton since making the move from Chelsea over the summer.

Moyes does not need another player like Rodriguez, but Everton certainly could have done with his creativity over recent years under the likes of Sean Dyche.
