Chelsea scored our 350th Champions League goal in the draw at Qarabag, and to mark that milestone we have compiled the list of our top ten scorers in the famous competition.
It was [Estevao Willian](/en/teams/profile/estevao)’s clever finish early on in Baku that brought up the landmark figure, and the talented Brazilian will hope to join some of the Blues’ very best players in the record books one day.
There are a clear front two in this list before a clinical frontman on 12, a trio of players tied on ten goals, and another four level on eight. We start with our European king!
Didier Drogba – 36 Champions League goals
-----------------------------------------
It is fair to say no Chelsea player has had a more interesting relationship with the Champions League than Didier Drogba.
Sent off in the 2008 final, he equalised and then scored the decisive penalty in Munich four years later - although that trophy-winning spot-kick does not count towards his final tally of 36 goals, which include some of the most iconic in our history.
Frank Lampard – 23 goals
------------------------
Super Frank’s 23 Champions League goals for us were spread across nine different seasons, typifying the midfielder’s longevity at the top of the game.
His improbable dink at the Nou Camp, penalty against Liverpool after his mother’s death and incredible spin-and-volley in a 4-2 win over Bayern Munich stick out.
Nicolas Anelka – 12 goals
-------------------------
The French forward scored his 12 Champions League goals in just 37 appearances in the competition – an impressive ratio.
His seven goals in 2010/11 is the second-most by a Blues player in a single Champions League campaign.
Fernando Torres – 10 goals
--------------------------
Torres bagged ten goals in 29 Champions League games for us, none more famous than his dramatic equaliser against Barcelona in the Nou Camp in 2012.
It made sure of our spot in the Munich final at the end of a tortuous second half.
John Terry - 10 goals
---------------------
Ten of JT’s 67 Chelsea goals were scored during his club-record 109 Champions League appearances for us.
The most famous were headers in memorable Round of 16 second-leg victories over Barcelona, in 2005, and Napoli, seven years later.
Willian – 10 goals
------------------
Willian found his goalscoring groove for us in the Champions League in 2015/16, scoring five goals, of which four were direct free-kicks!
He also struck a fine effort against Barcelona in the knockout rounds in 2018.
Tore Andre Flo – 8 goals
------------------------
Flo holds the accolade of scoring the most goals for us in one Champions League campaign.
All eight of his strikes came during our inaugural participation in the competition, in 1999/00, including three against Barcelona in a compelling quarter-finals tie.
Eden Hazard – 8 goals
---------------------
Hazard’s Chelsea career contained surprisingly few Champions League highlights, with half of his eight goals in the competition penalties.
One twisting and turning effort against Maribor, however, epitomised his skill and finishing ability.
Oscar – 8 goals
---------------
Oscar netted six goals in his first seven Champions League appearances for us, followed by two in his next 23.
Nonetheless, his second goal against Juventus on his full debut was our best that season and unquestionably one of our very finest ever in Europe’s premier competition.
Timo Werner – 8 goals
---------------------
With eight goals in 17 appearances, Timo Werner has the best goals-per-game ratio of anyone on this list.
The German netted four times in both 2020/21 and 2021/22, with the first of those campaigns culminating in our Porto triumph, with his most significant contribution in front of goal during the semi-final win over Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge.
