The shot stopper spent five seasons with the Reds.

Bangor City 1876 are a club based in Wales that play football in the Ardal Northwest League.

Whilst Liverpool may have one eye on the January transfer window as they undergo a turbulent season thus far, Bangor City 1876 have completed some transfer business of their own and have snapped up a former goalkeeper for the Reds.

Scott van-der-Sluis spent five seasons in Liverpool’s academy between 2010 and 2015 before signing for Swansea City.

He has featured for Wales U15’s to U17’s, but has been without a club since 2023.

Since leaving Shelbourne, Van-der-Sluis decided on a temporary career change as he delved into the world of reality television.

The same year he departed Shelbourne, he entered the Love Island villa as a bombshell before being later dumped from the show after failing to find a partner.

He has since also appeared on Love Island USA and Love Island Games, but was also eventually dumped from those two shows too.

Upon signing for Bangor City 1876, it represents an opportunity to restart his footballing career, and he will become the club’s third goalkeeper.

Scott Van-der-Sluis will return to a club he once captained and could be in line for a potential debut against Holywell Town next weekend.

Bangor City 1876’s signing announcement on Instagram reads:

“A new bombshell enters the City. Scott van-der-Sluis returns to action, as he signs for Bangor City 1876.”

“A talented shot-stopper who developed through the academy systems at both Liverpool and Swansea City – representing Wales at U15, U16 & U17 level.”

“Scott will be a familiar face, having captained Bangor City and being the brother of forward Jamie Reed.”

“Oh, and he’s featured on Love Island.”
