DeMarcus Cousins sounds off on state of the Sacramento Kings, praises fans

DeMarcus Cousins recently shared his thoughts on the state of his former team, the Sacramento Kings.

“It’s bad, it’s been bad, it’s probably going to continue to be bad unless some things change at the top. I don’t know what else to say, I can’t sugarcoat it,” he said.

Certainly not sugarcoating it there.

He then complimented the Kings fans.

“The Kings have a great fan base. That’s it. I love the Kings fan base. That’s a real fan base to me. They go through thick and thin. … They stick with you through thick and thin. Obviously, they are good fans. It’s been 20 years of losing and they’re still filling the building up. So, it shows you how much support these fans have for this team. All they are looking for is a winning product. And I still follow a lot of Kings pages and things like that. There’s a lot of outrage and deservingly so, but I can’t say too much because I’m the bitter ex, but the facts are the facts,” Cousins said.

Cousins also stated that he thinks the Kings should have started the rebuild when they traded De’Aaron Fox.

Yes, the fans are great, which is why we are all on this website and all over social media expressing what seems to be never-ending concern about the direction of the team. With the season quickly already looking like its over (and it was looking like it was over even before it began), and fans increasingly growing impatient and apathetic, one has to wonder how much more they can take.
