Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cory Trice Jr. was previously labeled questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. But now, he’s officially out.
According to team spokesman Burt Lauten, the Steelers downgraded Trice to out for the Week 11 matchup Sunday at Acrisure Stadium. Trice remains on the Reserve/Injured list and is still in his 21-day window to be activated.

Trice has been on the Reserve/Injured list since the start of the season with a hamstring injury and had his 21-day window opened up on October 29, returning to practice with the Black and Gold. But shortly after returning to practice,Trice suffered a knee injury, which has caused him to miss practice each of the last seven practices, dating back to the Friday practice before the Week 9 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
That’s largely been the story of Trice’s career to this point. He tore his ACL during training camp his rookie season, missing the entire year. Then, he made the team in 2024 and made some plays early in the season, including an interception in the end zone on the road against the Denver Broncos. But after that, Trice dealt with injuries throughout his career, landing on Injured Reserve last season before coming back late in the year.
He was expected to take a step forward this season, but a hamstring injury suffered in early August caused him to miss the entire preseason, leading to him landing on Injured Reserve to open the season. He’s remained there since, and now is dealing with a knee injury that has him set to miss yet another game, and could lead to his 21-day window to be activated to the 53-man roster closed.
If the window remains closed for Trice, that could be the end of the line for him in Pittsburgh. The best ability is availability, and while Trice has great size and profiles as a good cover corner, he hasn’t been able to stay on the field. He’s played just six career games in the Black and Gold, spending more time on the shelf than on the field.
