Former Patriots star calls Bill Belichick a ‘hypocrite’ for Jordon Hudson relationship

Former New England Patriots star Asante Samuel says Bill Belichick is being a “hypocrite” for his relationship with Jordon Hudson.

“Coach is being a hypocrite, man,” the cornerback who won two Super Bowls with Belichick and the Patriots told TMZ Sports. “He’s been a hypocrite the way he’s carrying on. He told us to stay off and don’t have family distractions and things like that.”

“Coach got all this stuff going on! Coach, where did this come from? Why wasn’t we able to enjoy ourselves like this now that you want to enjoy yourself!”

The relationship between Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, has caused numerous headlines since the coach took over at North Carolina last year.

The most recent sprung up last month when video released by “Pablo Torre Finds Out” showed the pair on a hot mic ripping the graphics department at NFL Films, where Belichick appeared to do his show “Coach” with former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and several producers.

Pat McAfee later told NFL Films the video was “pretty dirty” and was “coming out of your building,” which triggered NFL Films to deny leaking the footage.

Most recently, Belichick issued a statement saying he “will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies” in the wake of the Giants firing Brian Daboll.

All of this flies in the face of Belichick’s “Do Your Job” mantra which emphasizes preparation, attention to detail, hard work, and putting the team first to ensure successful execution under pressure.

Still, Samuel said the bottom line is that his former coach is happy.

“Whatever that looks like, just be happy,” he said. “Find happiness. If it’s gonna be a little embarrassing, and you don’t mind, the other person doesn’t mind, and y’all are happy together and it’s authentic, I mean, go with it.”
