Arne Slot has been handed some big news over a potential January transfer window signing for Liverpool
All eyes will be on Liverpool as the reigning champions look to bounce back from their Premier League disappointments when the domestic season resumes after the international break.
The Reds' 3-0 drubbing by Manchester City marked their second consecutive defeat before an international hiatus, following a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in September. With 11 matches under their belt, Arne Slot's team find themselves in eighth place in the league table, trailing leaders Arsenal by eight points, putting huge pressure on the Dutch manager.
After successive victories over Aston Villa and Real Madrid, pundits and fans alike are left pondering how Slot can guide Liverpool's high-priced squad back onto the winning track after their thrashing by City. Fresh transfer rumours have emerged, the Reds have also been given the go-ahead should they choose to bid for one star, while doubts have been raised about a potential move.
Here's all the latest news from Anfield.

Liverpool are said to be keen on signing German ace Serge Gnabry, whose future at Bayern Munich is up in the air.
The ex-Arsenal player has had a remarkable stint in Bavaria since his arrival in 2017. Gnabry has turned out 298 times for the German giants across all competitions, finding the net on 97 occasions, but his stint at the club could be drawing to a close, reports the Mirror.
The 30-year-old's deal runs until the end of this campaign and he would be eligible to enter discussions with overseas clubs about a free transfer once the January window opens.
Sky Germany have now claimed Liverpool are pursuing the former Arsenal winger, with Slot reportedly eager to bring in a skilful wide player.
Bayern haven't abandoned hope of retaining Gnabry at the Allianz Arena though, with negotiations over a new contract currently taking place.
Speaking during the summer, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany made his desire to keep the attacker clear. He said: "Look, this a very underrated player.
"There are outside opinions, but also our opinion and the opinions of his teammates. He's an underrated player with very few weaknesses."

Slot appears to have received encouragement in his chase for Bournemouth sensation Antoine Semenyo, after the Cherries' general manager confessed they would struggle to reject a club of Liverpool's calibre.
Tim Bezbatchenko, director of Black Knight Football Club and general manager at Bournemouth, has confessed he would find it difficult to reject approaches from top-tier clubs, being conscious of blocking a player's aspirations.
"When a club like Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSG come in and they're competing for Champions League positions, who are we to say, 'No, you can't go, you can't fulfil your dream'," he revealed on the Business of Sport podcast.
"No it wouldn't be like that for all clubs because not everyone is Real Madrid.

"But there is an opportunity and everybody wins right? I think that's what we're trying to find, this commonality where everybody can win."
Bezbatchenko's comments will undoubtedly be welcomed by Liverpool's sporting director Richard Hughes.
Hughes was the individual who initially brought Semenyo to Bournemouth during his previous role at the Cherries.
He'll be hoping Bezbatchenko's acknowledgement means the Reds can challenge Bournemouth's resolve for the rapid winger in the coming months, with the Cherries star having netted six goals this campaign.

Former Liverpool winger Jason McAteer has expressed scepticism about Liverpool securing Eagles star Guehi.
The ex-Republic of Ireland international has issued a caution that they could lose out on the England defender if the Reds fail to qualify for Champions League football this season.
Liverpool had struck a deal for Guehi to move to Anfield, only for Palace to pull the plug on the transfer at the last minute. The Eagles' talisman is poised to leave Selhurst Park next summer when his deal expires, making him available as a free agent.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as potential suitors, and McAteer reckons the Reds might find themselves at a disadvantage following their woeful start to the new campaign.

"Being a free agent brings everyone into the conversation. It brings Bayern Munich in, it brings Real Madrid, Barcelona and other clubs in as well," McAteer told AceOdds.
"If Liverpool drop off, there is no guarantee that they will qualify for the Champions League and that could be one thing which Guehi wants when moving as a free agent.
"It could also be a change of culture or something else. He might end up at Real Madrid and Guehi is a real talent who would go directly into the first team. It really is a concern that Liverpool missed out on him."
