CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Browns legend Bernie Kosar has given his latest health update in which he said, “We’ve kind of slowed down the bleeding. Still need that liver.”
Kosar was hoping for a liver transplant on Sunday but an infection kept that from happening.
Since then, he has had a series of surgeries and procedures to try and stop internal bleeding.
Kosar continues to share his journey through social media, in which he posted a message Saturday morning to make it a winning and positive day today.
“I can’t wake up without thinking the great words of some of my awesome coaches,” Kosar said in the post. “Like Coach Howard Schnellenberger and Coach Don Shula, they used to say, ‘How you do little things, is how you do all things. And each day when you wake up, you never stay the same. You get better or worse.’”
He said the advice could not be any more truer, as he wakes up and makes the conscience decision everyday to be better, especially to all the people, families and communities who we are able to touch in the course of our day, to make a positive and winning difference.
“But being able to go out today, and I challenge everybody, to make a positive and winning difference in all the people, families and communities we touch because you matter,” Kosar said in the post.
