Tyler Dibling failed to make an impact for England’s Under-21s against Republic of Ireland on Friday and may fall further down the pecking order at Everton.

David Moyes is said to be unimpressed by Dibling at Finch Farm, with the young attacker so far managing just 62 minutes combined for the Toffees in the Premier League.

Dibling possesses qualities which Everton are aware of, but there has been fan frustration around Moyes not giving the young ace a proper chance to showcase his talent.

The Everton man was handed 15 minutes off the bench on Friday as England’s U21s beat Republic of Ireland 2-0 in the Young Lions’ Euro qualification campaign.

Moyes’ most recent comments on Dibling suggest the young man’s time is running out at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes says he wants Tyler Dibling to ‘step up’

The only real reasoning Dibbling has seen scarce minutes for the Blues is simply because Moyes doesn’t rate him.

The likes of Thierno Barry and Beto have been awful for Everton, and even then, Dibling cannot get a fair share of minutes.

His performance off the bench versus Ireland won’t make Moyes take a new position on his stance either, as Dibling lost the ball three times despite a mere five touches, according to Sofascore data.

He also completed just one of his three attempted passes after coming off the bench.

Indeed, the fact Dibling’s not even starting for England’s U21s now says an awful lot about his predicament.

Speaking to the press recently, Moyes explained why Dibling’s services have not been “needed” with the current performance of Everton players. Adam Aznou’s absence was also discussed.

Moyes said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo on Tuesday: “We’ve not necessarily needed Tyler at the moment because our wide players are doing okay.

“We need [Dibling and Aznou] to step up. We want them as promising players.”

Moyes’ decisions to consistently snub Dibling have only been proven right, with a January exit now crucial.

Dibling will most likely rejoin Southampton in January

Dibling has been linked with a return move to Southampton, the club from which Everton bought him.

The 19-year-old’s market value is plummeting by the minute, and the Toffees need to do something quick, with it now almost seeming like a case of damage limitation.

The Blues have almost another four years of paying Dibling’s salary, which won’t be cheap.

The best scenario for all parties now would be for Everton to sanction a loan move back to the Saints in January, in hopes Dibling can recapture his form.

Dibling was comfortable with Southampton, and the proposed move could potentially help him return to Finch Farm ready to prove Moyes wrong next season.
