Jeremiyah Love is one of the most highly-touted running backs in college football ahead of likely being a top 10 pick in next year’s 2026 NFL Draft, and before one of the biggest games of his final season he was put in a very awkward position during his appearance with Pat McAfee while discussing the Pittsburgh stadium grass.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are looking to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive Saturday when they face off against the Pittsburgh Panthers at Acrisure Stadium in Pennsylvania in a matchup that could potentially end either team’s chances of reaching a coveted spot in the playoff.

During Love’s appearance on ESPN College GameDay prior to the game, McAfee brought up the poor Pittsburgh stadtium grass surface and he had the Notre Dame star in tears with laughter when discussing the notoriously poor Acrisure Stadium grass field.
“That grass though is a** notoriously,” McAfee said in front of a huge crowd of Panthers fans. “Have you thought about the grass and the cleats that you’re going to wear today against the Pittsburgh Panthers?”

While Love was extremely respectful with his answer, it’ll be interesting to see how the Heisman Trophy hopeful performs on the field after racking up 988 yards this season and adding up 16 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns for the Fighting Irish.
