The University of North Carolina head coach, Bill Belichick, was rumored to be interested in the New York Giants coaching job that recently opened up after Brian Daboll’s firing from the franchise.
Belichick won two Super Bowls with the Giants; however, despite his history with the organisation, the UNC head coach made it clear that he is not interested in coming back to coach them.

In his statement, Belichick shared that while he has great respect and care for the Giants and both the Mara and Tisch families, he is not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching gigs.
He further added that since he arrived in Chapel Hill, his commitment from the UNC team has not wavered, and shared that he is focused solely on continuing to improve the team and develop the players.
Reacting to the statement, especially the last bit where Belichick said, “We’re onto Wake Forest,” some fans shared their thoughts:
“$20 says his chick decided to write & release this.” one fan boldly started a bet.
“His girlfriend writes a good statement I’ll give her that.” another fan sarcastically wrote.
“TLDR – “my girlfriend said no.” another fan added.
“Why is he acting like he is up for a job lol.” Another fan took a shot at Belichick.
“Besides, who wants a washed up fossil of a coach like Bill? That experiment doesn’t work anymore, just look at the Raiders who have a fossil for a head coach… any questions?.” another fan commented.
‘Signed, Jordon Hudson — Then goes back to bed. Billy, we play hard to get and the Maras will come beg for us. I used to do this in high school with my boyfriends… 3 years ago.” another fan joked.
“Please remember that Bill belichick’s very good friend and coaching Nick Saban while being paid by the Miami dolphins told Miami that he knew nothing about the Alabama Job and only a few days later was the head coach of Alabama just be careful of what Bill is thinking.” another fan recalled.
Bill Belichick has “not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies.”

Ex-Patriots Star Calls Out Bill Belichick Over Relationship With Jordon Hudson
Bill Belichick’s tenure at UNC started on a rough patch as they struggled to win in the first few weeks during the 2025 college football season, and they are only gaining their momentum now.
Many analysts and fans blame Belichick’s relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, for his not being able to focus on the team’s growth.
Ex-New England star Asante Samuel shared his thoughts on the situation and said that Belichick is being a hypocrite in terms of the way he’s carrying on, as he used to tell his former players to stay off the media and dont have family distractions, contrary to his current lifestyle.
“Coach has all this stuff going on? Coach, where did this come from? Why wasn’t we able to enjoy ourselves like this now that you want to enjoy yourself, know what I’m saying.”
Samuel further added that Belichick used to set the standard for his players, and everybody looked up to him.
