Travis Kelce took a trip down memory lane as the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end was spotted supporting his former teammate at a local high school football game.

On Friday, Kelce — whose fiancee, Taylor Swift, recently provided a rare glimpse into their relationship — sat field level at the Kansas State Class 5A quarterfinal matchup between Mill Valley High School and St. James Academy.

According to KSHB41’s Matt Foster, Kelce was in attendance to cheer on St. James assistant coach and former NFL fullback Anthony Sherman, who spent eight seasons with the 36-year-old on the Chiefs from 2013-2020.

Kelce was joined by another ex-teammate and fellow tight end in Blake Bell, whose nephew reportedly plays for St. James.

The Westlake, Ohio native was treated to a thrilling contest that featured eight lead changes, with St. James ultimately secured a hard-fought 45-41 victory to punch their ticket to the 5A Final Four.

While trailing 41-38 with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, St. James junior quarterback John Hornback marched the Thunder down the field on a methodical drive before leaping into the end zone for a 12-yard rushing touchdown.

“It felt amazing,” Hornback said of scoring the game-winning touchdown in front of Kelce. “Open lane, all the defense went with our guys running, so I got lucky and got in there.”

On the heels of the miraculous finish, St. James head coach Tom Radke still struggled to wrap his head around what just transpired. “I really don't know how we got it done, but it was a fun win,” he said.

“Again, everything we had, we poured everything into it. We don't lose at home, right? So Marian Stadium, we don't lose here. That was a heck of a win.

“Great team. John Hornback was huge. Everybody played great. We just scored enough points to win, honestly.”

With the win over Mill Valley, St. James improved to 10-1 on the season — marking the first 10-win campaign in program history. “We're obviously not as big as Mill Valley, but we're just scrappy as all get out and we're super disciplined,” Radke added.

“And we did everything we needed to do, made the plays we needed to. Just super proud of these guys.”

Kelce’s outing on Friday was a far-cry from his recent nights out with Swift. During the Chiefs’ bye week, the couple enjoyed a cozy date night at The Polo Bar in New York City before taking the party to Zero Bond, a private club.

This weekend, Kelce will once again turn his attention back to the gridiron as the Chiefs face off against the Denver Broncos in a pivotal road game. Through nine games this year, he’s reeled in 41 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns.
