Seahawks’ final Week 11 injury report brings good news (and a hint of sadness)

Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver Tory Horton was trending toward having a fabulous first year in the NFL. He still might get there, but the last two weeks haven't been fun. He missed Week 10 with groin and shin issues, and he won't play in Week 11, either.

That is the bad news. Seattle isn't facing a must-win game against the Los Angeles Rams, but a victory could be crucial to how the rest of the season plays out. That was certainly the case in 2024 when a Week 9 loss made the final game of the year meaningless for both teams.

The Rams made the playoffs, and the Seahawks didn't. A Week 9 loss by Seattle to LA was the biggest difference.

Seattle Seahawks will get Ernest Jones back for Week 11 versus the Rams

The two teams are evenly matched, which means having as many key players healthy on both sides could be a key to the game. Horton is out, of course, but at least Seattle made a move at the trade deadline to acquire speedy receiver Rashid Shaheed. Former Rams receiver Cooper Kupp will also be good to go.

Seattle will be without starting center Jalen Sundell, but that was expected. He hurt his knee in Week 10 and will miss multiple games. In his place with be third-year pro Olu Oluwatimi, who is a better run-blocker than in pass protection, but he did well against the Arizona Cardinals last week, and hopefully that will roll over to this week.

Everybody else is ready to play, Mike Macdonald says

The great news is that linebacker Ernest Jones IV will play. He hurt his knee in Week 8 and missed the Cardinals game. He is the green dot on head coach Mike Macdonald's excellent defense and is tasked with being great against the run and communicating the play-calls from Macdonald.

The hope is that he is close to 100 percent, however. The Rams can take advantage of any deficiencies. Jones is, like Kupp, a former Rams player, so he will likely be extra-motivated to play on Sunday.

Rookie left guard Grey Zabel was limited in practice due to a heel issue during the week, but he is also expected to play in Week 11. He has been good so far and is improving each week.

For the Rams, wide receiver Davante Adams (oblique) is questionable to play, and he has been limited in practice ahead of Week 11. Disruptive defensive tackle Kobie Turner (back) is also questionable, and he missed both Wednesday and Thursday's practices.
