[J.K. Dobbins](/players/j-k-dobbins/)'s foot injury will prematurely end his first season in Denver.
The Broncos running back will require season-ending surgery for his foot injury, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Saturday, per sources.
Dobbins, who has a ligament issue in his foot, sought opinions from several experts before ultimately deciding on surgery, per Rapoport and Pelissero.
It was initially believed the veteran RB would be [shelved for the foreseeable future](https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-rb-jk-dobbins-significant-foot-injury) on injured reserve. Instead, Dobbins' first year with the Broncos ends after 11 games.
