Lakers vs. Bucks: The matchup

The Lakers are set to play away from home for the fifth straight game and ninth time in 15 this season. They do so as 1.5-point underdogs after a mixed bag of results in the first four games of their current road trip with wins over the Charlotte Hornets (121-111) and New Orleans Pelicans (118-104) and a pair of lopsided losses to the Atlanta Hawks (122-102) and Oklahoma City Thunder (121-92). Last time out, the Lakers rebounded from that loss to OKC by winning in New Orleans behind a game-high 31 points from Austin Reaves and double-doubles from Deandre Ayton (20 points, 16 rebounds) and Doncic (24 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds).

The Bucks go into Saturday night’s showdown with the Lakers with an 8-5 record overall and a 4-4 mark since opening the season with four wins in their first five games. Kyle Kuzma delivered a big 29-point effort in a Friday night home win over the Hornets (147-134) where Milwaukee outscored Charlotte, 18-5, in the extra frame. Antetokounmpo went for 25 points and 18 assists and failed to lead the Bucks in scoring for just the third time this season.
