The Reds, especially, as they sit will below their expectations so far this term after they lost 3-0 to Manchester City last weekend. That game was not without controversy as Liverpool saw a goal ruled out for an offside against Andy Robertson. VAR did not intervene to overrule the on-field call.
The defender was deemed to be impacting the goalkeeper as Virgil van Dijk headed in what he thought was the equaliser. Liverpool contacted the PGMOL about the decision but referee chief Howard Webb has since defended the call.
Earlier in the campaign, Everton were left angered when VAR did not intervene as they lost 1-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road. James Tarkowski was penalised for a handball with his arm down by his side as he leaned to block a shot. For the Toffees they are not in a bad spot will feel their performances have deserved more points.
