Adams signed a two-year contract with the Rams in March for a reported $46 million with $26 million guaranteed. The star pass receiver has been on fire this season, leading the NFL with nine touchdown catches. His injury in the blowout win had the Rams community holding their breath.

Coach Sean McVay said Friday morning that Adams is expected to play against the Seahawks on Sunday. The latest injury reports brought relief to a fanbase watching their playoff hopes ride on Adams staying healthy.

Adams had six catches for 75 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game. Around the 12-minute mark in the fourth quarter, he stopped mid-route and reached for his lower back on the left side of his torso before sitting on the bench with VP of sports performance Reggie Scott.

McVay said after the game that Adams “probably could have been able to come back if it was a little bit closer,” similar to Puka Nacua’s situation last week. The Rams were up big, so they held him out as a precaution.

Adams missed practice Wednesday but returned as a limited participant Thursday and Friday. The six-time Pro Bowler logged limited sessions both days and carries a questionable tag into Sunday’s matchup.

The head coach was optimistic about his receiver’s availability this week. When asked if he expects Davante Adams to play Sunday against the Seahawks despite an oblique injury, Rams coach Sean McVay said, “I do. That’s what he tells me. He’s feeling good, and I trust him. He’ll be ready.”

Seems like he guessed it right, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, “Rams WR Davante Adams, listed as questionable for Sunday due to an oblique injury, is expected to play vs. the Seahawks, per source.”

In short, he is on the way to getting the green light to play Rams’ next match against Seahawks.

Davante Adams Shares Positive Update on His Injury Status

Adams himself already gave Rams fans even more reason to relax after the game. The six-time Pro Bowler addressed his injury status and sounded optimistic about his availability moving forward.

“It was biting a little bit in the game, but it’s feeling better now and we’ll see how it feels next week. It’s my side and oblique area. I’m not too good at anatomy and biology and all that, so I don’t want to mislabel it. But whatever is on this side below my ribs, this muscular area, something like that,” Adams said.

That’s precisely what the Rams wanted to hear. The team is still monitoring him, but all signs point to Adams suiting up. So, we can expect to see No. 17 torching Seahawks’ secondary on Sunday.
