Opinion: David Moyes would've been wowed by Everton target who scored against Scotland last…

Everton manager David Moyes would’ve had a good look at one Greek player who scored against Scotland last night.

The January transfer window is fast approaching, and Everton have been keeping tabs on a number of transfer targets.

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has been on David Moyes’ radar as the Toffees boss looks to bolster his attacking ranks.

Former Brentford and now Al-Ahli frontman Ivan Toney has also been linked with Everton over the last few weeks.

One of Moyes’ other transfer targets was in action for Greece last night, and the attacking midfielder certainly made a name for himself in the World Cup qualifier.

Everton target Konstantinos Karetsas scores vs Scotland

Moyes would’ve watched Scotland take on Greece last night with the hope of his home nation moving a step closer to the World Cup in America next summer.

However, Scotland suffered a 3-2 defeat, and one of the Greek goalscorers, Konstantinos Karetsas, is actually on Everton’s radar.

Moyes’ scouts watched Karetsas against Rangers back in September as the Genk playmaker made a late cameo appearance.

The 17-year-old wonderkid, who has been tipped to win the Ballon d’Or one day, curled home a beautiful left-footed finish last night that would’ve certainly impressed Moyes, who is clearly looking to add more creativity in the middle of the park this winter.

There has been criticism aimed at Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall over the last few weeks, so perhaps Karetsas could come in to provide more competition.

The eight-cap Greece international was previously valued at around £20m, although his stock is continuing to rise, so it’ll probably take bids in excess of £25m to prize him away from Genk.

Karetsas, who was born in 2007, is a left-footed number 10 who can also play as a right-winger when required.

Despite not even turning 18 until later this month, Karetsas has established himself as a regular for Genk and has already registered seven assists this term.

The exciting teenager has also delivered on the international stage with Greece, as he netted his third goal in eight outings last night.

Everton face a real battle to land his signature, with Liverpool, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Bournemouth all named as potential suitors this winter.

It remains to be seen whether Moyes is willing to spend much of his budget on Karetsas, considering there is a more pressing need to sign a centre-forward.
