Sweden boss Graham Potter says Alexander Isak is fit enough to play more than just a cameo role in his side's World Cup qualifier against Slovenia on Tuesday night.
The Liverpool forward appeared from the bench in the 62nd minute of his side's 4-1 defeat to Switzerland on Saturday, marking his first return to the pitch since going off at half-time in Liverpool's 5-1 win over Frankfurt on October 22.
Former Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham boss Potter says Isak was always going to be limited to just half an hour of action in Switzerland, but he is set for more minutes on the pitch on Tuesday ahead of Liverpool's return to action against Nottingham Forest next weekend.
"The plan was for Isak to play 30 minutes," Potter said after the game. "It wasn't an easy position in the game to get into. Hopefully, we'll see more of him on Tuesday. The plan is for him to play more against Slovenia."
Sweden are bottom of their World Cup qualifying group, but they are assured of a place in the playoffs thanks to their Nations League performances.
Elsewhere there was a defeat for Andy Robertson's Scotland, who went down 3-2 to a Greece side featuring Kostas Tsimikas, who is currently on loan from the Reds at Roma.
Scotland, for whom ex-Red Ben Gannon-Doak found the net, were handed a lifeline though as Denmark surprisingly drew 2-2 at home to Belarus, setting up a winner takes all clash between the Scots and the Danes for World Cup qualification on Tuesday.
Meanwhile Giorgi Mamardashvili shipped four goals as his Georgia side were beaten 4-0 by Spain, but young Reds pair Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni fared much better as both started in England under-19s' 7-0 win over Latvia.
Ngumoha, who is still to start a Premier League game for the Reds despite scoring at Newcastle on his league debut, scored a stunning opening goal just 81 seconds into the match and completed the full 90 minutes, with Nyoni coming off in the second half.
Young forward Keyrol Figueroa also scored an early goal, netting in the first minute of USA under-20s' 2-1 win over Costa Rica.
