Drake London Injury Update: Star WR’s Status Revealed Ahead of Falcons-Panthers

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest against the Carolina Panthers as he battles illness and a back injury. However, despite the designation, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the wide receiver will suit up to take on the division rivals.

Drake London Injury Update: Falcons’ Star WR Expected to Play Against Panthers

This report is music to the ears of Falcons fans, as London has been the clear star of Atlanta’s passing attack. So far this season, the former first-round pick has recorded 53 receptions for 691 yards and six touchdowns on 85 targets, leading the team in all four categories. While he’s been great all season, he’s brought his game to a new level in recent weeks. London recorded nine receptions for 118 yards and three touchdowns against the New England Patriots and followed that up by recording six receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown against Indianapolis.

The Falcons face off against a Carolina Panthers team that has had their number in recent seasons. Currently sitting in second place with a 5-5 record, Bryce Young’s squad is battling for the first playoff spot since the end of the Cam Newton Era. Atlanta, meanwhile, sits at 3-6 after dropping two consecutive close games. Seeing as they have no first-round pick this year, Atlanta essentially needs to win out and earn a Wild Card spot if the team wants to justify the James Pearce trade.

This game is a rematch of a one-sided blowout from Week 3. After starting the season 1-1, Atlanta gave Carolina their first win of the season after losing 30-0. The Panthers won three of their next four following that game, while the Falcons won their next two before going on a four-game losing streak.
