Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas missed Week 10 with an ankle injury that, in all likelihood, will sideline him for Week 11’s contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. While the team has yet to officially rule him out, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the former first-round pick is not expected to play in a game that will likely have dramatic playoff implications.

Brian Thomas Injury Update: Jaguars WR Unlikely to Play Against Chargers
This report just adds to what has already been an incredibly disappointing second season for the former LSU star. Selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Thomas had a dominant inaugural campaign, recording 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching passes from Trevor Lawrence and then-backup Mac Jones. Despite the inconsistency at the position, Thomas made the Pro Bowl and looked like one of the league’s rising stars.
Unfortunately, he has not been able to replicate that success in 2025. Through the first eight games of the season, the wide receiver has caught just 30 of his 60 targets for 320 yards and one touchdown. The LSU product has struggled with drops and contested passes while he and Lawrence routinely appear to be on different pages. Hopefully, Brian Thomas can turn it around when he returns from injury, as the 5-4 Jacksonville Jaguars need someone to step up for the late-season stretch.
With Thomas and first-round pick Travis Hunter sidelined, look for former sixth-round pick Parker Washington to be a featured part of the passing attack. After playing a depth role early in his career, the Penn State product has quietly become a key piece in recent weeks. Through nine games and three starts, the third-year pro has recorded 28 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns on 51 targets.
