Despite all the talk in the Philadelphia sports media surrounding the A.J. Brown drama, the Eagles have not been able to fully celebrate the great defensive performance they had against the Green Bay Packers in Week 10.
The Eagles held the Packers' offense to just 261 total yards and created two turnovers. Their most impressive feat was holding Green Bay to Philly's season-low seven points in the 10-7 win.
Despite that excellent performance, there are still some big decisions that might need to be made in the secondary quickly if things don't improve. Of course, all eyes are on the CB2 position and what Philadelphia needs to do with it as they face the Detroit Lions in a critical Week 11 matchup.
Is Adoree' Jackson facing benching if he can't perform well against the Lions?
Jackson's struggles have been well-documented this season, especially after his horrible debut with the team against the Dallas Cowboys. Jackson actually bounced back well with two strong performances against the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams before getting hurt and losing his job for a big to Kelee Ringo.
Since regaining his job, Jackson has been average at best, resulting in the Eagles making trades for Michael Carter II and Jaire Alexander. The Eagles' original solution at CB2, Alexander, retired within a week of being in Philly, leaving defensive coordinator Vic Fangio with some decisions to make in the secondary.
It appears for now that Jackson will stay on the outside at CB2 with Quinyon Mitchell on the other side and Cooper DeJean in the slot. The other solution could be Fangio making the move he desperately doesn't want to, with putting DeJean on the outside at CB2 and placing Carter in the slot with Jackson on the bench.
Fangio loves DeJean in the slot as the second-year corner is playing even better this season in that position than last year. The unfortunate part is that Jackson's play might have forced Fangio to make that move.
In seven games this season, Jackson has racked up 26 tackles and five pass deflections. His PFF overall grade is a horrendous 49.8, ranking 101st out of 109 NFL cornerbacks.
Jackson enters the Lions game with a tough matchup, as he will line up across from wide receiver Jameson Williams. This is going to be a matchup between a stellar tackler and a speedy receiver, but a tackler who is wildly inconsistent in coverage.

The reality is that if Jackson doesn't play well against the Lions, Fangio will have no choice but to play DeJean on the outside and put Carter in the slot. Philly can't afford to have any player on the field who holds them back from winning a second straight Super Bowl.
