Packers vs. Giants: The matchup
The Packers still have Super Bowl aspirations, but they’ve got problems to solve on the home front after losing back-to-back home games to the Carolina Panthers (16-13) and the Philadelphia Eagles (10-7) where they scored a combined 20 points. In that loss to the Eagles, Green Bay was limited to just 157 yards through the air and lost the turnover battle while scoring its first and only points in the final six minutes of the fourth quarter. The Pack are now 7-point road favorites in New York with a much easier task on paper to get back on track.
The Giants are stuck in a four-game losing streak that cost coach Brian Daboll his job, and things figure to get worse before they can get better. Starting with the Packers on Sunday, New York is set to face playoff-caliber teams three weeks in a row, with the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions next up on the schedule. The Giants are still a scrappy bunch trying to find ways to win after letting late leads slip away against the Chicago Bears (24-20) last weekend and the Denver Broncos (33-32) back in Week 7.
