Bills vs. Buccaneers: The matchup
The Bills enter the weekend listed as 6-point betting favorites despite playing through peaks and valleys that took them to a low point last weekend, when they got blown out by the 3-7 Miami Dolphins. That win came on the heels of a 40-9 road win over the Carolina Panthers and a 28-21 win over their rival Kansas City Chiefs, which in contrast showed what Buffalo is capable of doing when playing its A game. A tough opponent awaits this weekend, and back-to-back road matchups against the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers are set to follow.
Mayfield and the Bucs have lost a little of their early-season momentum with a stretch of two losses in three games, but they remain atop the NFC South Division with their 6-3 record. Those two losses came to aspiring Super Bowl contenders in the Detroit Lions (24-9) and New England Patriots (28-23), which Tampa Bay now follows with road games against Buffalo and the Los Angeles Rams over the next two weeks. The schedule is favorable down the stretch, though, and should have the Bucs in position to reach the NFC Playoffs for a sixth straight season.
