Eden Hazard names the best team he ever played against in the Premier League when he was at Chelsea

The presence of Eden Hazard in the Chelsea side instantly made them one of the best teams in England during his time at the club.

The Blues won two Premier League trophies with Hazard in their ranks, as well as two Europa Leagues, an FA Cup and League Cup.

John Terry knew Hazard would be incredible for Chelsea, and was proven right immediately as he quickly became one of the best players in the league.

The Belgian’s time in the Premier League coincided with the end of Manchester United’s reign of dominance in England, and the Blues were amongst the league leaders in that time.

Eden Hazard names Manchester City as his toughest opponent as a Chelsea player

The seasons they did miss out on league glory, it was usually Manchester City who were crowned champions. Three times the Blue side of Manchester brought the title home when the winger was with Chelsea.

It is clear that they were the biggest challengers to Chelsea in this time period, and why Hazard named City as the toughest opponent he faced during his spell in England.

Twice Chelsea finished third in the league when City won it, with one of those being the 2018/19 season, Hazard’s final for the club.

Arguably his best individual season, the Belgian contributed to 38 goals in all competitions before making his move to Real Madrid.

Hazard’s strong record against Manchester City

The Belgian’s Chelsea debut came against Manchester City in the Community Shield, and while he didn’t score that didn’t define his record against these opponents.

Hazard found the net four times in all competitions against them, assisting six goals as well.

While City were victorious in the 2019 EFL Cup final, Hazard’s memorable panenka penalty was a great sign of the confidence he had to score against them.

The 2016/17 season was easily his best against City, scoring three of the club’s five goals against them on the way to winning the Premier League.
