Dominik Szoboszlai offered new deal by Liverpool

Talks had been advancing and Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the Hungarian.

Dominik Szoboszlai has been a standout player for Liverpool so far this season.

Despite the inconsistency of Liverpool’s results this season, Szoboszlai has been the constant within the chaos, and has continously put in strong performances.

The Hungarian international has been deployed at right-back when needed this season and has played expertly well there too, despite it not being his natural position.

There have been calls that he could eventually become the captain of Liverpool, as his leadership skills and intensity are attributes that could make him a great future skipper.

Now, such form has put him in the conversations of extending his stay at Liverpool.

At the start of November, Fabrizio Romano reported that talks are advancing and progressing between Liverpool and Dominik Szoboszlai over a new contract. It’s not int he final stages of negotiation as there’s still work to do with no agreement yet.

Whilst there appears to still be no agreement, confrimation has arrived that Liverpool ahve offered Szoboszlai a new contract, and the club will now wait to see what the midfielder’s decision is.

Replying to a question on Threads, Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Liverpool have offered Szobo a new deal. Let’s see how talks go!”

That will certainly come as positive news to Liverpool fans, as the Hungarian has quickly become a fan favourite on Merseyside.

Especially under Arne Slot’s management, Szoboszlai has thrived in a Reds shirt during the Dutchman’s time at the club.
