Green Bay Packers: 5 inactive players vs New York Giants, updates on rookie wide receivers

Health has been a major concern for the Green Bay Packers ever since the season began, and it will, unfortunately, continue to be something they need to overcome as the season goes on. Of course, this is true for all NFL teams, including Green Bay’s Week 11 opponent, the New York Giants, who are going to be without their starting quarterback (Jaxson Dart), starting running back (Cam Skattebo), and best wide receiver (Malik Nabers).

Heading into Sunday, there were some serious questions regarding the health of Green Bay’s rookie wide receivers, Matthew Golden and Savion Williams. Golden, a first round pick, has been battling a shoulder injury while Williams, a third round pick, was seen getting off the team bus on Sunday morning in a walking boot.

Fortunately, both players are going to be active for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

The Green Bay Packers list 5 players as inactive against the New York Giants

Green Bay Packers place kicker Brandon McManus (17) watches his extra point during the fourth quarter of their game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

With kickoff a little over an hour away, the Packers listed five players on their active roster that will not be suiting up, whether it be due to injury or other reasons:

#Packers inactives: WR Matthew Golden is active and DE Lukas Van Ness is not.

Inactives:

17 K Brandon McManus

18 WR Malik Heath

21 CB Nate Hobbs

67 OL Donovan Jennings

90 DL Lukas Van Ness

As one can see from the post above, kicker Brandon McManus will not be playing as he continues to deal with a right quad injury. The Packers have lost each of their last two games by three points, and McManus missed a field goal in each of those games.

Lucas Havrisik will start at kicker for Green Bay.

Malik Heath did not make the trip to New York for what the team is calling a “coach’s decision,” which usually indicates a player is being disciplined.

Nate Hobbs and Lukas Van Ness are still working their way back from injury. Van Ness returned to practice this week and took part in pregame warmups, but is obviously being given another week before returning to game action.

Donovan Jennings is presumably a healthy scratch.
