The Pittsburgh Steelers get another crack at Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals just a few weeks after a shocking 33-31 defeat. That kicked off the beginning of a bad month for Pittsburgh, so maybe the rematch can help end it. This one is taking place at home in Acrisure Stadium.
Both teams are down some key pieces with the Bengals missing their top two edge rushers and third-down back Samaje Perine. The Steelers will be without Alex Highsmith and Darius Slay.
Even at 3-6, the Bengals have plenty to play for. With a win, they have a fighting chance with Joe Burrow and a late-season surge to win the division and qualify for the playoffs. The division hierarchy hangs in the balance today with the Baltimore Ravens playing the Cleveland Browns just one game behind the Steelers in the standings.
Flacco managed to get Ja’Marr Chase a record 23 targets in Week 7 against the Steelers, but the secondary looks quite a bit different from last matchup. Jalen Ramsey is now back at safety with Kyle Dugger, who wasn’t even on the roster last time. With Slay out, Joey Porter Jr., Brandin Echols, and James Pierre will have to hold it down for the CB room. They also elevated D’Shawn Jamison from the practice squad to provide more depth.
