Lions announce Detroit rock icon to headline Thanksgiving halftime show

DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) - Days after announcing a partnership with Detroit rap icon Eminem to produce future Thanksgiving halftime shows, the Lions have announced another Detroit music icon will headline this year’s show.

Jack White, fresh off his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will perform at halftime of the Lions-Packers game on Thursday, Nov. 27.

The 12-time Grammy Award winner, much like Eminem, is a big Detroit sports fan.

Last week the Lions announced a multi-year partnership to have Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg, serve as executive producers of the annual Thanksgiving Halftime Show.

The Detroit natives will consult the team on talent selection and “all aspects of halftime production” through the 2027 Thanksgiving game. Jesse Collins Entertainment (JCE) has been hired to produce the performance.

The Thanksgiving Classic is a Detroit tradition, with the team hosting a game on the holiday every year since 1934.

The halftime show has attracted big names in recent years, including Shaboozey, Jack Harlow, Big Sean, Bebe Rexha, Brothers Osborne and others.
