Ahead of kickoff of the 1pm NFL Week 11 matchups, let’s dive into our favorite player prop bets today.
We like the following players today, as we’ll explain in detail below:
1️⃣SEA WR Rashid Shaheed 3+ receptions
2️⃣CAR WR Jalen Coker 3+ receptions
3️⃣DET WR Jameson Williams over 53.5 receiving yards
Seattle WR Rashid Shaheed 3+ Receptions (+109 at DraftKings)
Editor’s note/shameless plug: We’re sticking with the player prop bet we highlighted in the latest edition of Newsweek Sports Betting 📩. You can read that piece below (and if you’re not already subscribed to Newsweek Sports Betting 📩 , look no further!)
The Seahawks’ recently acquired speedy wide receiver had a quiet debut for Seattle last Sunday in his new team’s blowout win over the Cardinals. As a matter of fact, he was only in action for a third of Seattle’s offensive snaps (21, to be exact). His only catch in that game went for three yards. As a result, he’s flying under the radar coming into today’s massive showdown vs. the Rams.
I expect him to be much more involved today than he was last week. Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been on a historic tear, but the Seahawks knew they needed a reliable complement to JSN, and that’s why they traded a fourth-round draft pick and a fifth-round pick to the Saints for Shaheed.
Expect the Rams to do everything they can to make someone besides JSN beat them today. Whether that actually works is anyone’s guess, but I’m confident it will mean at least a few touches for Shaheed, who had at least four receptions in all nine games he played for the Saints before the trade.
Carolina WR Jalen Coker 3+ Receptions (-102 at DraftKings)
The Panthers’ passing attack badly (desperately?) needs to change things up after one of Bryce Young’s worst games of the season last Sunday. Carolina rookie WR Tetairoa McMillan’s career is off to a great start. The Panthers have not gotten much from their complementary wide receivers this season, though, to put it lightly.
2024 first-rounder Xavier Legette has continued to struggle in Year 2, with just 20 catches for 181 yards on 38 targets. Don’t be surprised if Jalen Coker sees an uptick in targets starting today. Coker, an undrafted wide receiver out of Holy Cross, was solid as a rookie last fall, with 32 catches for 478 yards on 46 targets.
Injuries have limited him to just four appearances this year, as he did not make his 2025 debut until Week 7. The last three weeks — his only games this year with a snap rate of 65 percent or higher — Coker has turned nine targets into seven catches for 66 yards.
He was on the field for a season-high 40 snaps (75.5 percent of Carolina’s offensive snaps) last week and he should once again get plenty of action today.
Coker caught nearly 70 percent of his targets in ’24 and averaged 10.4 yards per target. While his catch percentage (63.6) and yards per target (6.0) this year have hardly been remarkable, they’re significantly better than Legette’s lackluster 52.6 percent catch rate and 4.8 yards per target on the year. Legette’s numbers also left plenty to be desired as a rookie, when he posted a 58.3 catch rate and just 5.9 yards per target.
The other reason to like Coker to have his 2025 season breakout (or at least his first solid game) is McMillan’s tough matchup with Atlanta’s A.J. Terrell Jr., which could force Young to look at his secondary targets.
Detroit WR Jameson Williams Over 53.5 Receiving Yards (-112 at FanDuel)
