Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was critically injured after being shot in New York City early Sunday morning, according to the New York Post.

According to the report, Boyd is "clinging to life" at Bellevue hospital. The 29-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a team representative said to the Post.

Boyd joined the Jets this season but has been on the injured list since he suffered a shoulder injury during a preseason game on Aug. 2.

The Vikings selected Boyd in the seventh round of the 2019 draft. He also spent time with the Cardinals and Texans before joining the Jets.
