Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are ready to break the bank and fork out €100 million to sign Real Madrid sensation Arda Guler.
The Turkish gem has been one of the standout performers for Real Madrid in the ongoing campaign. He has excelled since shifting into a midfield role under Xabi Alonso, and his exceptional work has placed him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs.
According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester City are very keen on signing the 20-year-old, who is considered one of the best young players in the world. The Premier League giants are preparing a blockbuster offer to secure his services. They are willing to table a €100 million offer to strike a deal with Los Blancos.
Guler’s sensational rise at Real Madrid
After coming up the ranks at Fenerbahce and making a name for himself while playing for their first team, Guler joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2023. While he did show signs of the talent he possesses on quite a few occasions in the initial years, the 20-year-old didn’t have a prominent role under Carlo Ancelotti.
However, he has finally managed to establish himself as a key figure in the team under Alonso. While he was initially seen as a right-winger, Guler has now cemented his spot in the team as a midfielder. He is capable enough to feature as a central midfielder, as well as in an attacking role.
While Guler remains an integral part of Real Madrid’s long-term plans and his contract there runs until the summer of 2029, there are clubs that are ready to try and prise him away. Manchester City are one of the biggest admirers of the Turkish international.
City are desperate to land Guler
Pep Guardiola is pushing hard to secure his services, as he feels Guler could help him better control the tempo of games, and his creativity could do wonders for them. The Premier League giants are quite serious about their pursuit, and they are preparing a massive €100 million to get a deal over the line.
However, that might not be enough to convince Real Madrid to even consider negotiating the departure of one of their most valuable assets. They believe he still has plenty of room to improve and have no intention of letting him leave.
Guardiola’s men have already made an enquiry, and they are now discussing whether they can table an even bigger offer to overcome Madrid’s resistance.
