Joshua Zirkzee to Everton could be on the cards in January.

Everton are still at risk of relegation this season, though their chances of avoiding it can be increased significantly if they make the right decisions in the January transfer window.

Signing a striker is going to be a priority for David Moyes, who has made it clear that he needs someone to rely on for goals.

Zirkzee had been linked with a move to Everton recently, and the chances of a deal may have just been increased.

Man United reject offer from abroad for Joshua Zirkzee

Given Zirkzee’s form at Bologna before his move to Old Trafford, there was always going to be interest in the Dutchman if a possible exit route started to emerge.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

With his lack of form in the Premier League so far, that chance has started to break through the cracks, with several Serie A clubs monitoring the striker, who has featured six times for the Netherlands.

However, according to AS Roma Live, the Red Devils have refused an offer from Milan for the Dutchman, with the Toffees still keen.

Roma are also mooted with an interest, with West Ham and Juventus also said to be keeping an eye on any future developments.

If Everton are to pursue a deal, it is promising to see Milan potentially drop out of the reckoning.

Everton face Catch-22 situation with Josh Zirkzee

In Thierno Barry and Beto, Everton have two target-man style forwards who have failed to have much of an influence this season.

To go and add a third in Zirkzee would seem nonsensical, but there are other considerations to be made.

Zirkzee is versatile, but throughout his time at Bologna, he showed just how good a striker he can be.

His move to Man United has not gone to plan, but as demonstrated by several players over the last few years, a move away from Old Trafford can often come with an improvement in performances.

Whether the Toffees are serious about their interest in the 24-year-old remains to be seen, though they may have a good chance of securing his signature if they are to pursue it.
