Egypt are moving into the final stretch of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

It concerns Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool are watching the situation closely.
The national team has one last friendly before the tournament.
It is a home game against Nigeria in Cairo on December 14.

Egypt’s national team director, Ibrahim Hassan, confirmed the situation in clear terms.
He said via Winwin that Egypt are “still in contact with Liverpool and Manchester City at the moment, regarding this matter.”
He explained that Salah’s availability for the Nigeria friendly has “not yet been definitively determined.”
Liverpool and Manchester City want to keep Salah and Omar Marmoush for league matches against Brighton and Crystal Palace on December 13 and 14.
The dates clash directly with Egypt’s friendly.
Salah played in Egypt’s recent 2–0 loss to Uzbekistan in the Al Ain International Friendly Tournament.
The staff then decided to rest him for the next game against Cape Verde.
That added more caution to the situation.
