The Milwaukee Bucks are picking up the pieces following a 119-95 loss at the hands of Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Saturday.
Coming off an overtime victory over the Charlotte Hornets the night before, the Bucks didn’t seem to have the legs or the energy to keep up with the visiting Lakers, who built a 12-point lead by the end of the first quarter and even led by as many as 31 points.
“Honestly, we were just tired tonight,” Milwaukee head coach Doc Rivers admitted following the Lakers game (h/tEric Nehm of The Athletic). “I think you watched last night’s game. It was an overtime game played at an amazing pace, so I think we’ll keep getting better maybe. Keep getting in better shape on them, but we had nothing tonight.”

Many fans, however, did not buy Rivers’ claim, especially since the Lakers also played on Friday and had to make a trip from New Orleans to Milwaukee to face the Bucks.
“Doc is admitting that he hasn’t gotten his players in shape and doesn’t sub effectively.,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “Lakers were b2b too! His rotations are awful. When is he going to get fired?”
From a commenter: “Defense is awful for awhile. Miss me with being tired”
“The fact that this man is still employed amazes me. He is by far, and without a shadow of a doubt the worst coach in the nba.,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Lakers played a back to back as well, stop with the excuses, we got exposed by a good team. We need to improve everything lol.”
Said another: “Can’t use this excuse when Lakers were also on a back to back and was away smh”
Doncic didn’t look fatigued at all, as he dropped 41 on the Bucks, while Deandre Ayton had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebouinds. As for Milwaukee, it was led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 32 points, while AJ Green contributed 15 points in their team’s sixth loss in the 2025-26 NBA regular season.
