Chicago Bulls Fans Make Feelings Clear on Anthony Davis Trade Ideas

Anthony Davis could potentially be the biggest name of the NBA trade block as the 2025-2026 season plays out.

So far, the Chicago Bulls are the most relevant team in the market for the Dallas Mavericks star, thanks to comments made by the former All-Star, John Wall.

"I don't want to speak for him, but he probably wants to move forward. You can't believe everything you hear on the news, but you've been hearing he wants to go back to Chicago and see what's going on,” said Wall

Since the Mavericks acquired Davis in a shocking blockbuster with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, the veteran front court standout has had a hard time staying on the court. As a result, his stint with the Mavs has been viewed as a total disaster so far, considering Luka Doncic is out in Los Angeles thriving.

The Bulls haven't declared themselves as a rebuilding team at this time. If there is an intriguing win-now move available to them, they just might take it. However, there is a crowd of Bulls fans who seem to be against their favorite franchise making a move for the Chicago-born big man.

In a Reddit thread titled "WE DON'T WANT ANTHONY DAVIS," Bulls fans got some thoughts off their chest.

Bulls Fans Are Against AD in Chicago

via r/comeontars69: I'd rather have D Rose come out of retirement and be a vet presence on the end of the bench, than AD

r/omicornpop: Agree. He's injured so often it would be another worthless contract. Let's stop making that type of mistake.

r/DJ_DD: Feel like Dallas would need to sweeten the deal for anyone to take Davis at this point.

When Anthony Davis landed on the Mavs last season, he managed to play in just nine games. While he played well, posting averages of 20 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, he couldn't will the Mavs to a playoff appearance just one season after they were in the NBA Finals with Luka Doncic running the show.

This year, Davis has appeared in five games, posting a similar stat line as last season. Once again, Davis is out of the lineup, as he's dealing with a calf injury.

r/jmaca90: It's DWade all over again. History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme. SMDH

r/Phnix21: We don’t need another Lonzo that plays 5 games in 3 years.

The Bulls started the 2025-2026 NBA season thriving, leading the Eastern Conference early on. Now, they are 6-5, which places them four games back from the top-seeded Detroit Pistons.

Chicago has a lot of questions. It's unclear if they should take a gamble on acquiring an All-Star, but the Bulls haven't been open to taking a rebuilding route. They had a soft reset recently, cutting ties with the likes of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Lonzo Ball, but they seem confident in their young core.

From a basketball standpoint, Davis would be a strong addition. When healthy, he's a productive two-way talent who had an All-Star-caliber run last year with 24.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game. But the injury concerns are very real, and understandably have fans begging for the Chicago front office to steer clear of a potential Mavericks fire sale.
