Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is enjoying a rather solid season with the Pittsburgh Steelers this year. After two disastrous seasons with the New York Jets, Rodgers entered play on Sunday with a 66.8% completion percentage, 1,853 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a 97.2 passer rating.
More importantly for Rodgers and the Steelers, Pittsburgh sits atop the AFC North, and kept their one-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens intact with their 34-12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.
Next week, the Steelers will take on the Chicago Bears, a team Rodgers has famously dominated for the entirety of his career. Unfortunately, it is very possible that the former Packers quarterback will not be able to play.
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a wrist injury
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle B.J. Hill (92) and defensive end Myles Murphy (99) sack Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) in the second quarter of the NFL Week 11 game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025. The Steelers led 10-6 at halftime.
In the win over Cincinnati, Rodgers completed nine of his 15 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, he had to come out of the game early due to a left wrist injury and did not return.
After the game, it was reported that the fear is that he has a “slight break” in his wrist:
The initial concern is that Aaron Rodgers has, in the words of one source, “a slight break” his left wrist, but the Steelers quarterback will underdgo further testing Monday to determine the full extent of the injury and how long he’ll be sidelined, per league sources. pic.twitter.com/Or2YHzFMBk

Mason Rudolph completed 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown after Rodgers went down.
Further reports state, however, that Rodgers’ injury is not expected to be a long-term concern:
Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers will undergo more tests Monday on his left wrist, but the initial belief is it’s nothing long term, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
X-rays at the stadium showed a small fracture. They won’t know more until further scans. pic.twitter.com/5rnuYxpwxa

Obviously, since the injury is to his left wrist, Rodgers can still throw the football. The question, though, will be whether or not the injury is bad enough to keep him out for any amount of time.
Hopefully he will be able to play and continue to dominate the Bears, but the Steelers will not know until further tests are completed.
