November 17 – La Liga champions, FC Barcelona, have signed a three-year global partnership with Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), a blockchain firm building privacy-focused infrastructure powered by decentralised AI.

The deal makes ZKP the club’s Official Cryptographic Protocol Partner through 2028 and folds the company’s tech philosophy into Barça’s growing digital roadmap.

It’s another sign of how deeply crypto technology is weaving itself deeper and deeper into the football ecosystem. What began as shirt sponsorships and NFT drops has evolved into clubs betting on advanced blockchain systems to handle data, fan engagement, and even performance analytics.

ZKP’s speciality is zero-knowledge proof technology, which lets information be verified without exposing or storing personal data. In a sport obsessed with both fan data and competitive secrecy, that pitch hits two pressure points at once.

The partnership gives ZKP access to Barça’s digital advertising space, visibility across club media, and room to build new digital experiences for supporters. The club says the system’s decentralised AI layer can analyse athlete performance without exposing raw data, protect confidential information from outside misuse, and bring greater transparency to algorithmic decision-making.

But the rise of crypto in football often brings a raised eyebrow or two, and this deal is no exception. ZKP’s online presence is tiny, with just 33 followers on X at the time of the announcement.
