**PHILADELPHIA —** The Philadelphia Eagles have endured a concerning injury to a star player on “Sunday Night Football” against the Detroit Lions at Lincoln Financial Field.
Right tackle Lane Johnson, who has been playing through an ankle injury, is questionable to return to Sunday’s game with a foot injury, the Eagles announced.
After the Eagles were forced to punt in the first quarter, Johnson went into the blue medical tent on the sideline and later walked to the locker room with trainers.
Johnson left Monday’s game early against the Green Bay Packers with an ankle injury. He later returned for Philadelphia’s final drive.
Johnson, 35, is a five-time All-Pro selection. He’s one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL and will easily be a Hall of Famer. So it’s a big loss — and it’s a big concern that the veteran has been dealing with injury issues.
If Johnson can’t return, swing tackle Fred Johnson will fill in.
