Golden State Warriors players reunite with former stars in wholesome video

The Golden State Warriors played the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night. The game itself was a wash, with the Warriors grabbing a comfortable 124-106 victory. However, some of the evening’s best moments came before the game even began.

The Pelicans have two former Warriors stars on their roster, Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney. Both were key parts of the team that won the NBA championship in 2022. So naturally, when they met up with their former teammates before the game, it made for some wholesome content.

Brandin Podziemski ran to where Looney was sitting and gave him what can only be described as a bear hug. Jimmy Butler was seen chopping it up with the big man, too. Gary Payton II found Poole and the two shared a hilarious dance before embracing.

The NBA is a business, and players keep having to move. This is something everyone knows and accepts. However, those relationships can’t be broken so easily, and it’s always good to see a reminder of that.

Poole was only in Golden State for four years, but Looney spent a decade there after being drafted by the franchise. Naturally, some of the younger stars will have also been mentored by the big man. It’s good to see them with their former teammates, even if they are with the Pelicans now.
