Cris Collinsworth did not mince words on Sunday night. As the Philadelphia Eagles sealed a 16–9 win over the Detroit Lions, the NBC analyst erupted over a critical officiating decision that effectively ended Detroit’s comeback hopes.
The moment came with 1:51 remaining, when cornerback Rock Ya-Sin was flagged for defensive pass interference while defending A.J. Brown on a third-and-8 deep shot.
Both players were hand-fighting, Brown appeared to initiate the final shove, and the pass sailed out of reach, yet the flag flew anyway.

The penalty gave Philadelphia an automatic first down and allowed the Eagles to kneel out the clock after having just surrendered a long Detroit field goal that cut the deficit to seven.
“That’s a terrible call that’s going to decide this football game,” Collinsworth said immediately on the broadcast. “If anything, it’s an offensive push.”
Instead of getting one final possession, the Lions watched their window slam shut. In a night defined by wind, defense, and missed opportunities, the controversial call became the defining image.
