Seamus Coleman has already given Everton his seal of approval to sign prolific striker

Seamus Coleman has just heaped praise on a striker that Everton are keeping tabs on ahead of the January transfer window.

David Moyes is in the market for another centre-forward this winter as Thierno Barry and Beto clearly need support.

Everton are being held back by their profligate forwards at the moment, with the duo scoring just one Premier League goal between them.

Ivan Toney is on Moyes’ radar, however, Everton News columnist Alan Myers believes that signing is unlikely.

Troy Parrott has also been linked with a move to Everton, and now Seamus Coleman has given his verdict on the young striker.

Seamus Coleman labels Everton target Troy Parrott ‘incredible’

Moyes had scouts watching Parrott’s brace against Portugal last week and speaking after the game, Coleman hailed his Ireland teammate.

“Yeah do you know what, Troy deserved it… I’ve not had that coming through as an Irish player, you know maybe the wonderkid tag,” the Toffees captain explained.

“I’m sure a lot of pressure comes with that and he cares a lot about playing for Ireland and you can see that and it means a lot to him.

“Like us all, he’s had ups and downs in his Ireland career, but the way he’s playing at club level and to come in and play like he did was incredible.

“Everyone was so happy for him and the team but Troy deserved that moment, and hopefully that now will kick him on again.”

Clearly, Coleman is a big admirer of Parrott, so perhaps he will be key in any forthcoming negotiations to bring him to Merseyside this January transfer window.

Roy Keane impressed by Troy Parrott

After his two goals against Portugal, Parrott went one better against Hungary last night with a sensational hat-trick to send Ireland into the World Cup play-offs.

Speaking after the game, Roy Keane was visibly moved by the 23-year-old’s heroics.

“Fantastic, amazing,” Keane said. “When you think the way they started the campaign, a draw and a defeat. To win today on the back of the Portugal result, fantastic.

“Great boost for the country and the team. The manager was heavily criticised but they’ve bounced back and got some momentum now.

“Parrott got a hat-trick. There was always talk about Parrott over the last few years, but he has stepped up in the last few days.Great achievement. Fingers crossed now for when they go to the play-offs…”

Moyes certainly would’ve been impressed by Parrott’s performances over the international break, so it wouldn’t at all be surprising if he’s already lining up a bid ahead of the winter window, which is fast approaching.
