Remember when the Philadelphia Eagles were 4-2 and looked to be in deep trouble on the season? Now they look like the class of the NFL.
The Eagles are coming off a massive 16-9 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 11 action, as they improved to 8-2 on the season and are riding a four-game winning streak. Things are going in Philly's direction despite the distractions off the field and struggles on offense.
With the win, how does this impact the Eagles' playoff picture? How are they stacking up in the NFC East division race and the NFC playoff picture as a whole?
Eagles are in full control of the NFC entering Week 12
Week 11 went about as perfectly as the Eagles could have asked for, with pretty much every team that they needed to lose falling. The Seattle Seahawks lost to the Los Angeles Rams, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Buffalo Bills.
While the Rams are at 8-2 on the season, the Eagles hold the tiebreaker since they beat Los Angeles in Week 3 thanks to two field goal blocks to end the game. That leaves Philly in sole possession of first place in the NFC with the Rams, Seahawks, and Chicago Bears (7-3) all within a game.
As for the NFC East, the Eagles are running away with the division. Their magic number to win the division is four, as they could easily seal the title in early December. The Dallas Cowboys are playing the final game of Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Washington Commanders and New York Giants each lost.
The Eagles currently hold a roughly five-game lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East, boasting a 3-5-1 record. Washington is 3-8, and the New York Giants are 2-9.
